BIFS High School Counseling Program
The high school counseling program supports students and families in achieving a balanced, healthy, and successful high school experience. The high school counselor assists students with social/emotional issues, academic concerns and university and career planning.
Social and Emotional Counseling
The social and emotional counseling services at BIFS is a brief strategy based approach to supporting students. The counselor is able to meet with students one-on-one and in group settings. The counselor is available to meet with students and families by appointment.
Every student comes to BIFS with varied academic skills and goals. The counselor can help students as they navigate their educational journey through out high school and as they plan for life after high school.
University counseling is a major part of the high school counseling program. The counselor works with students grades 9-12 to help students understand different university options world wide.
BIFS offers a post-secondary preparatory curriculum for expatriate and Korean students. We are an IB World School and one of the most diverse international schools in all of Korea. With our diverse student body, we are excited to welcome colleges and universities from all over the world to meet with our students.
Scheduling University Visits

Preferred Times to Visit BIFS:
- Supervised Study (80 Minutes): Every other day, grade 11 and 12 students have an 80 minute block of Supervised Study. This is an ideal time to meet with students for longer presentations or web-based presentations. It is possible to organize a mandatory or voluntary session. Time: The time of this block is different everyday.
- Homeroom (30 Minutes): We have Homeroom everyday in grades 9-12. This is an ideal time to meet with students for a quick but efficient presentation. We can always book the presentation space for longer and those students who would like to ask more questions can stay after school. Time: 3:00pm – 3:30pm.
- Lunch (35 Minutes): Lunch presentations can take place from 1:00pm – 1:35pm any day of the week. Sessions will be by invite only and will take place in the Counseling office.
