Dear Parents and Guardians,
It has been a busy week with our electives programme starting, Back to School afternoon and the re-scheduled initial conferences with parents. Lots of learning happening as we start our inquiries. Have a great weekend!
Back to School Afternoon
It was great to see so many parents at the Back to school afternoon on Tuesday. I hope the Special and support services presentations were informative and you enjoyed the opportunity to learn about your child’s class routines and curriculum programme for this year. Thanks for attending.
Parent-Teacher initial Conferences

The typhoon last week forced us to reschedule the conferences originally planned for Friday. However, everything went smoothly and the Homeroom teachers really appreciated the opportunity to learn more about your children and your hopes and dreams for the year. Thank you for coming.

Message from the PTA:
We would like to invite all parents to join us for our first PTA meeting at 10am on Wednesday, September 5th in the BIFS Elementary Assembly Hall.
BIFS needs parent volunteers! Can you help?
Several teachers have reached out and asked if any parents are willing to help out with upcoming projects and events. These are great ways to enrich your child’s education and support our teachers and school.
Please use the link below to see volunteer opportunities and to let us know how you would like to help:
We will be sending out more opportunities as the year progresses. Feel free to email pta@bifskorea.org if you have any questions or if you have difficulty filling out the form.
The Bears Athletic Program-Homestay
On October 11th to 14th, 2018, BIFS will be hosting the Varsity Boys Volleyball Tournament in our international athletic league, the Association of International Schools Asia (AISA). As always, in order to run a successful tournament, we need your support in either opening up your home to host students, or in helping us find a home for the traveling teams. More information can be found The Bears Athletic Program -Homestay .

Assembly this week
In our assembly this week, Ms Graff, our teacher-librarian, introduced the picture books and chapter books nominated for the ” Morning Calm Medal”. These books have been proposed by librarians in Korea. Students are encouraged to read the books over the next few months and vote for their favourite.
New Outdoor Table Tennis table
Students were able to use the new table tennis facility this week. It has proved to be a popular break-time activity.
